This Habu 2 ARF I bought came with the BNF manual. I Searched this thread high and low to see what servos everyone is using. Most people are keeping the stock ones. What would be a good metal gear servo to use? I saw some people put HS-65MG's for the flaps. How many oz-inches do I need for the rest of the control surfaces?
I have some cheap hk metal gear servos on my flaps. I ussed hitech HS-65 carbonite gears on the Ailerons. With the covers on these you could prob even use nylon gears on alerons. Depends on $ you want to spend.
Something with similar specs to the HS-65's are good on this plane, for both wing servos.

If you want cheap option I have found these to be very good, Metal gears and ball bearings.

Thank you, its nice to know I don't have to buy something excessively expensive. I have some carbonite servos laying around.

thrust tube and mega 16-40-1 motor

Can anyone comment on how fast the Habu 70mm will be with a thrust tube...does the thrust tube get you 5mph over just having retracts??

Also, how fast would the Habu 70mm with retracts be with a Mega 16/40/1 motor on 6S?

I still have my original v1 Habu after 3 seasons. It's nice on 5S and retracts but I want more speed. I have a 100A controller in it so I think I can handle a 6S mega.

Thanks,

Andrew

Some info for reference. Mine did about 135 averaged (142 downwind)
this was with a 3180kv motor and a Wemo Minifan pro rotor.
The motor bearings got noisy and the jet was then flown on 5 and 6s with Mega 16-40-1 (3150kv)
The jet has a mylar thrust tube in it.

Habu 2 RADAR runs...best pass: 142mph (10 min 52 sec)
