New Product
Durafly AUTO-G Gyrocopter

Looks like a new A/Gyro is on the market---the Durafly Auto-G Gyrocopter from Hobbyking.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...21mm_PNF_.html

Specs:

Rotor Diameter: 821mm
Length: 795mm
Height: 392mm
Weight: 600g
ESC: 20A
Servo: 9g x 4
Motor: 800KV brushless outrunner

Looks like it uses a conventional elevator instead of pivoting the head fore/aft. Why? A simpler head arrangement, easier for beginners to fly?

They have a nice video posted showing takeoff, flying, loop, and landing.

Constuction time on my Doozy a/gyro kit has been stalled a bit, so I ordered one of these to hold me over. Hope they get spare blades & such in stock soon!

Now that is what we have all been waiting for! I have no doubt what so ever that this will be a big seller, it is the way forwards. Keep it simple.

It looks like the ideal introduction for that person who is lazy and cant be bothered to build!

One has fallen into my basket!

Regards

Rich

I wanted a simple A-gyro for a while. Glad to see it released but I wish it did have a full axis head. This is a good size and a good place to get my feet wet. Ordered...

Just order mine as well ... I don't know if you notice it ... but JIT items like this one, are shipped to Europe by EMS, that is 30$ more expensive then normal Air Parcel ... I just add 20cent items from China warehouse not JIT, and I got the shipping back to less then 23$.

56$ shipping cost for 70$ bird is a bit too much for my taste.

Now ... for 90$ shipped is looking fine ... I will have to add custom takes ... but sometime it does not happen ... custom takes are additional 30% costs ...

Anyhow ... I have my still unfinish ciena HK balsa kit ... I think this PNP will go faster on the air

Yes, I had to do the same thing--add some small non-JIT items so that I didn't have to spring for the EMS.

Now, who's going to be the first to receive one and post up some pics/video??

Subbed and order placed. Been lurking on the auto gyro forums for a while but the only single rotor plans are a bit beyond me and I couldn't sit down and get one sorted. I've probably just thrown $100 down the drain in a crash but we'll see.

You will be suprised by how easy the Auto-G is to both assemble and fly, just get it high and get used to it, won't take long.

Hey Scott--is it safe to assume that spare blades and such are on the way soon?

Scott

Thanks for following this thread. Let us know when the blades are available for spares. I'll be ordering a spares kit for this. Also thanks for your HKing work with the videos and the like.

Very nice guys! Watched the video...it's bigger than I thought! Thought it was like rotor shape size, but it's double that size.

That's good to hear, Anthony wasn't so sure when I first showed him the edit, but I vetoed him on that front... it was intended to be taken a little tongue in cheek

A pleasant model to film this one, as it flies very well and obviously slows down nicely for passes. Worthy of note is that the day we flew for video was actually very windy, but the model handled it surprisingly well.
