When I see a price for an item that is shown as:

" $ XX shipped CONUS"

I take it to mean:

1. That is the price I need to pay.
2. Shipping within the continental US is included in the price.
3. The PP fee is included in the price.

Do I understand this correctly?

Yes. Anyone that charges extra, for PayPal fees, is breaking their seller agreement with PayPal. If someone asked me to cover the fees after the fact, I'd tell them "Good luck with your sale" even it it's only a couple of bucks. Sellers should be posting the price and include any fees (minus shipping if they don't know the cost yet)

I agree. Shipped price to conus means all fees included. No ifs and buts. Unless of course it's international where you have to take into consideration the tracking requirements of paypal to be eligible for seller protection.

I agree, adjust the price to include everything. I usually take a loss on shipping, especially going out west, making the buyer happy is main goal. I usually upgrade the shipping if a little bit more, I always insure and add sig conformation if high ticket items. And always provide tracking. Haven't had one problem.

It's very simple, just bump up your price a 'lil bit to get that PP fees your asking for. I always click 'next' when i see someone asking for PP fees or pay as a gift.

So far,we all agree-I think it's nickle and diming to ask for PP fees separately.

Somehow it's just irritating to be nicked for another couple of bucks.

I have always stated one price on my sales,and I only want to hear one price on my purchases....

If someone posts clearly upfront in their ad that they wish to be covered for pp fees, I can deal with that. I simply do the math that they haven't (estimate at 4%) and figure out the real "shipped" price. In many cases it's actually less than the flat 4 or 5 bucks they might tack on because it's easier than doing the math for their ad.

Is asking for it separate rather than including it in your total price kind of offputting for some, sure. But if we're being realistic, it's not any different than just seeing a price a couple bucks more. To be clear, this is all in cases where they are upfront and clear about the paypal fees.

Now if they try to tack the fees on later: good luck with your sale, I'm outta here.

We all know it's against paypal rules to charge for the fees, but including the fees in your asking price is technically the same thing. In the end the buyer is paying for it in most cases.

I understand the reasoning, that's enough for me if I want the item. Just be clear & upfront, otherwise people get upset.

Clear, descriptive ads showing accurate depiction of the ACTUAL item- not a hijacked jpeg of a comparable item- with terms of sale...I think this is what good buyers expect and should be required. Many go far beyond this expectation and they are the ones who have received my business.

once i stated the shipping would cover pp fees but it was on the free section to cover the actual shipping,

one time it happened to me after paypal took the fee out, i didnt have enough to cover the shipping too

but times were hard that month , most of the time is only a few cents for those threads anyway

when selling an item its my responsibility for using the service to get paid
and the same when someone else is doing it and im the buyer

The answer is simple! just give all your stuff away for free and pay all the shipping yourself. NAA I bet they will complain about that as well.
