Yep....building Peter Rake's 58" Eastbourne Monoplane. Thought about building the Barovkov D, but after a glider failure (couldn't throw it fast enough) I decided to try one of Pete's planes......went from 1940's swept wings and 500 mph to 1913 straight wings and 50 mph.....

Weather sucks.....low's in the teens and twenties.....highs in the thirties....winds 10-30.....but it's not as cold as it is in Ontario

That Napier Sabre was a monster motor. Bet it was heavy with the 24 cylinders.

I read a very good article on it in Aviation History magazine.
The Brits wanted the Americans to build it under license, but although the American manufacturers were impressed with it's engineering, they declined to build such a complex motor. Especially considering our radial engines were simpler and were making the same or more levels of power at the time.
