I have used your 4800 kv and fan setup (balanced) in my Starmax Panther and it was noticeably faster than stock 4300 kv. The same setup in my Freewing EPO Panther is not nearly as fast. I am thinking the lack of real ducting, small inlets and a cheater grate are causing it. Have you tried your combo in one of these?

Did you have thrust tubes in both? if not perhaps the exit nozzle area is larger on the Freewing one? I had a kit for a Freewing version but sold it, I though the Starmax one was cleaner looking, the Freewing one has real thick trailing edges if I recall that is pure drag.

Nip tuck was done on the Starmax and stock outlet was used on the Freewing.

I could add a thrust tube to the Freewing to see if it helps. What outlet diameter would you suggest?

That is probably the difference. On these models thrust tubes can add 5-8 mph pretty easily. You want to shoot for 51.4mm.

I have some nice 7 mil mylar and I will make a thrust tube.
