Question
Tex Spare parts?

Howdy Nitro Planes,

I just bought my first plane from you guys, the Tex Messerschmitt Bf 109 ARF. Fantastic plane, I set it up with an Orange radio and did well on the maiden. Cudos on your shipping as well, it was here in 36 hours! Wow, was I pleasantly surprised!

I noted that the instruction sheet included a spare parts list, including part numbers. However, I don't see anyplace on you site, nor a reference on the instruction sheet, as to where I can obtain any of the listed spare parts. I tried Googling the part numbers themselves, and didn't get a hit that way either.

Can you advise me where I can get the spare parts please? I know how I fly, and will need spares sooner rather than later...

Thanks!

We'll be getting the spare parts in for the Tex RC planes within the next couple of weeks. We're getting the spare parts in for the Airfield planes at the moment so the next couple of shipments will have the parts for the Tex RC planes.

Thanks for the reply Charlie. I'll try and fly as sanely as I possibly can until the spare parts arrive.

Again, loving the plane, and I am impressed with your customer service and quick shipping. Keep up the good work...

Well, I need props. Like 10 of them, those things are incredibly fragile...

Any news on the spare parts coming in???

Forget these props they are mostly for display. Buy a 2 blade 7x5 SF
or 8x4SF, brand APC, GWS, Haoye ... You need to adapt and balance
new props. If You want 3 blade try GWS 3x8040

It was confirmed yesterday that the spare parts for the Tex RC planes should be here by the end of this month.

This thread has helped me make my decision not to purchase this aircraft.

It is a nice plane, too bad there are no parts. I even searched the old Kyosho line looking for replacements. I found some props that will work (both a 2 blade and a 3 blade) but none of the foam is available. I broke a wing, and while I glued it back together and it flies fine, I would much prefer to be able to replace it.

I'll probably just fly the Messerschmidt until it wont stay in the air anymore, and then gut it for parts.

That really is a shame because it is a nice looking plane. And the price is kind of high for a plane of that size with no spare parts support.

Too bad there is not even a kit version so that you could at least replace the airframe

Ironically, I found a work-around. Sort of. After some more googling for a Kyosho wing, I found the complete plane on sale here: http://www.kyoshoamerica.com/aiRium-...-VE_p_192.html

$59.99 later and I have a brand new plane arriving on The Big Brown Truck today. After I ordered it, it went out of stock, so it looks like I got the last one. I'll continue to fly the Nitroplanes version until it just wont stay in the air, and then pull the Rx and put it in the Kyosho. I've pretty much figured out the "bad habits" of this 109, so It'll be awhile before I have to do the swap.

Even if Nitro did have spares, I'd probably have to pay about the same for a wing, fuse, prop, spinner and horizontal stab. And then, I would have to monkey with all the electrics and pushrods. Also, if I want to fly a "pretty" plane, it'll take 10 minutes to swap the Rx, and go flying.

Lesson learned. I'll never buy another plane before I check the spare parts availability...
