Got to add this, flying scale, I don't much need to go past 1/4 throttle with my set up.

On my Waco I mixed in a small amount of down elevator with the throttle to counter act that. It worked out quite well.

The Clark Y is a really old, flat bottom airfoil. It was used on the Spirit of St. Louis and the Lockheed Vega. Has a very good lift to drag coefficient when scaled down for models, and the flat bottom makes it easy to build wings. Used a lot in model planes.

Here's a snap of Snoopy's new stab under construction, and an illustration of the perfect touchdown attitude- tail just slightly low, power a little above idle.

Interesting about the Y section.
Will have look into this a bit more.

Cracking weather here in the uk today, hardly any wind.
Flew the pup 7 times today. Each flight gets better and better. Takeoffs are getting better now and landings are so easy. No nose overs now at all and can steer her right to my feet. Absolutely brilliant to fly.
White scarf flapping in the wind just about sets it off.
Starting to input rudder in turns a little to help her round but she doesn't need hardly any at all. The diff on the ailerons must be sufficient.

Sorted out my constant climbing issue as well., ......Elevators were not dead level with each other. One was slightly higher than the other causing the lift.
Now corrected. Handsfree no prob now on half power.
Getting 14-18 mins before power starts dropping low and putting back 3800mah so really pleased with this.
Must get so picks for you to see her.
Lovely plane to fly.

Hi Harry,

If you look close you'll see about 5oz of the supplied lead weight zipp tied under the engine mount.
Together with moving the servos and lipos forward, swapping the rear rudd/elev rods for carbon ones it only needs 5oz up front.
It balances spot on and tipps the scale at 8lb 5oz.

I read on this website that the weight in the original position in the supplied box makes the landing very difficult and has like a pendulum effect while your trying to steer it on the ground.

I've not nosed it over yet !!!

I have read the thread and now I need to change my G-20 Zenoah powered Camel to electric.

I have gotten rid of all my glow and have a couple of gas engines left but am really enjoying my electric flying.

This Camel is going electric with maybe a sound system.

What size is the Fokker?

How is the aileron authority?

Much more detailed than my Global Hobby D-VII, and has the ailerons in the right place.

Mine is the Hangar 9 Fokker ,it has a 65" wing and aileron authority is great
Both planes fly really nice and easy and land well .
The Fokker Dr1 that I'm working on has a 60" wingspan...hope it flys just as nice

Which is exactly what I see with mine, but I thought it was just me sucking at crosswind landings (which I had down pretty good on my trainer).
