Mini-review of the RC Star Cerva C2

This is a Mini-review of the RC Star Cerva C2. Yes, I know it's spelled different but it's not by accident. This is an ARF model closely resembling the Cierva C-30. The construction is all balsa and laser cut plywood with, I think, Monokote covering.

The kit comes with a decent hardware package and is well packaged and protected for shipping.

In case you noticed... those shorts are my San Francisco camo's. Wear them there and they don't even notice you. This is like practice for Xmas

This is part 1 video. Sorry it ended so abruptly but I ran out of memory space. I guess I have to empty the chip every now and then.

This is more of a tutorial on soldering technique but it is part of the build.

I'm trying to upload the instructions but the .pdf file is too big and I don't know how to split it up into smaller files.

I will be adding photos of my own to show how things go together as the instructions leave a little bit to be desired.

That would be a good start! I wish it was 22 minutes of usefull info but it keeps you on the edge of your seat (so that you can run at first chance)

Ha! Normally no, but it's easier to control the light and sound in the house. Wouldn't you know the neighbors decide to trim their trees for the past few days and the branch mulcher is deafening.

I have the torch Don and I have a really thick wire to solder (could be part of the problem) and my flux is some gooey brown crap I bought from Radio Shack. When it bubbles its like molasses and gets crusty black....always looks nasty. I like your stuff and method better. Where can I find some?

The Stay-Brite silver solder is available around here at just about any hardware store. It is stronger than electrical solder, works at a lower temp, and resists rusting over a period of time. The wire is 22ga galvanized steel wire.

The shorts however are a different story. First off, my daughter works for Nike/Michael Jordan as a marketing director and she gets schwag from many promotions and some of the stuff never makes it to market. Occasionally I get some cool leftovers!

I wear them to the field and spectators with questions are directed to the fat old guy in the purple camo shorts. Easy to find!
I also wear them when I pylon race. The competition thinks I'm special. At least, that's what they used to tell me on the short bus!
