I'm hoping that some of the planes that are out of production come back in improved versions.

Naturally I'd like flaps and retracts but I don't want to pay $200 or so. Pete |

My Gee Bee was ordered day one and is still NIB! I test ran it to see the AS3X work, stuck it back and haven't taken it out since.
I like it but our club field is grass and I was worried about damaging the CF rods on the bottom. Sure enough a clubmate damaged his, didn't notice and folded a wing. I have enough to fly so I keep it against the day I can fly off at least packed earth or maybe a paved surface. Best guess is that Horizon doesn't want to carry a huge inventory and is cutting back and plans to introduce better models. I'm thinking of planes like the Inverza, which seems a notch above most other planes in stock. The Carbon Cub was a disaster, which I blame on a sleezy outfit in China looking for a one-time profit rather than building a long term business relationship. I hope that gets refurbished with better tail feathers. The ones on mine are about as strong as toilet paper. I did have one minor crash due to a stuck aileron servo that began working again by the time I got to the pit area. Whatever's going on I hope they stick with whatever outfits have produced the best planes so far and dump the sleazoids that screwed up the Carbon Cub. Pete |

I made the mistake of buying two CCs because they look so good and have all the stuff like lights, flaps, ailerons, AS3X, floats, tow hook - have one with floats and one with landing gear. They both had problems including, a faulty servo, screws that couldn't be removed or tightened, dihedral in one plane and a flat wing on the other, different COGs with same battery locations, lost tail wheel on one, and of course, the fragile tail feathers that get damaged just in carrying the planes. These planes required more fixing and repairs then any others I have - and it wasn't all my fault either. The addition of floats on one did allow flying all winter off snow. If they bring out an improved version with sturdier empennage, better construction, more attention paid to getting everything "right", then I may buy a third. I do have one of their latest - the Archer - attention was paid to detail and a well finished product. It can be done. |

Parkzone has done all the engineering with the dual ESC brick, reversed motors and props, and dual aileron servos. It surprises me that they have only done one twin... |

I bought the Flyzone Tiger Moth as parts from Tower.
I saw the P-38 at the WRAM show and it doesn't look like there is a lot of room for gear inside and I have to add that I couldn't stick an AR6400 into the Tiger Moth. It's grounded until I can find an old Vapor Rx I have lying around someplace. Pete |
