Please Help Mini Super Cub
Hello.
I am a beginner rc flyer and received my rc airplane as a gift 2 years ago. It has been sitting in my garage for a while and I wanted to run it. Here is the problem: even with a full battery, the motor does not run for long. When I have the throttle on the remote on full, the motor lets out a blast for 1 second, then turns off even with my hand still full on the throttle. When I disassembled the propeller assembly with just the motor, the motor would work perfectly. I cleaned out a lot of dirt from inside, but to no avail. It does not work with the propeller on. If anyone has been having the same problems and knows how to fix it please respond! |

Sometimes when the battery sets too long, it can be charged, but will not hold the charge when you put a load on it.

I do not think it is a problem with the battery because when I remove the propeller, the motor works perfectly fine. Thank you for the reply

The motor won't have to work without the prop on it, so the battey will last longer.

Try a new battery. It doesn't matter what the motor does with no prop because
there is no load on the battery. |

Try running at half to a quarter throttle with prop on and see if it runs a little longer? It's going to be your battery?

If I remember correctly the battery is the 5 or 6 cell nicad or nimh right? Sometimes nimh battery packs can be resurrected by charging, discharging and then repeating the cycle about 4-5 times. I have done that with car battery nicads/nimh batteries before.

In fact, consider an upgrade to a Lipo battery.

The battery has gone bad save your self the trouble and buy a 5$ battery

Also make sure you turn off the anti crash stuff. That will cause the motor to cut out too. Your owners manual will explain how.

My champ did that when the battery was not charged fully. Also, there is a cutoff mode when the power is lost, but the best way to fix it is just make sure the battery is fully charged. If it is, then buy another battery.
