Did she get her bottom wet? Always nice to see something besides gray hulls on the waterfront.

been working on some small stuff, needing 1pdr guns for both my ships (and others planned) made the masters for guns and deck mount.. the guns are cast around 1/32nd brass tube and have a piece of 1/16th brass rod cast into the pivot to make them mount better.. the brooklyn and raleigh have them mounted in rim mounts in the mast tub platforms..

new battery program, motors have to removed to get the new battery in and out, will have to add charging jacks so charging can be done with the battery in place.. going from 2.3 amp hr to 3.4 should be able to get good long runs.. with less do nothing ballast..

a test in the tank showed that the new battery will work great, taking into the calculations the final deck details(forward six inch, davits and small boats.) she still need about 500grams of not doing anything but sitting there ballast..all is looking good!!!

a hard detail problem for ships of his era has been solved, almost all US navy had emergency steering rigs (most often on deck) 2 or 3 large 10 spoke wheels on a common shaft so many sailors could gang together.. after sending drawings, pics and info to David from vectorcut some great stuff was waiting for me this morning.. the wheels are 6 pieces each , can't wait to get to get them painted and up on some turned deck mounts..
