Thanks for your input Earl, the OS 240 twin seems like a real boat anchor, was concerned with the weight. Is anyone having to add nose weight to C/G with a DLE 30 or similar ?

It took quite a bit of nose weight to balance with a Syssa. There is also a pocket to mount the rudder servo in the back of the fuse, if needed.

Thanks Guys ! This is looking like a Good canadate for the Twin 240 ! On glow and CDI

On briefing the Rascal manual off Sigs website, I see c/a hinges are included, is there enough wood in the wing trailing edge to use Robart hinge points?

The control surfaces now come pre-hinged W/Robart hinge points.

I'm just ready to recover my old, old Rascal (without flaps)...I'm adding flaps, and I'll post pics of the TE, if there's enough "meat" for Robart hinges in the old style wings.

The trailing edge is just shy of 1/2" thick (12mm?) Here's a pic of a 3/16" Robart hinge inserted...There's a lot of unsupported pin exposed...Maybe that's why they used sheet hinges in the old one.

Hey All,
Received mine about a week ago and she's ready to go!
Mounted the Turnigy 6474 249kv and she balances out with two Zippy compact 6s 5800s' side by side right under the CG!
This is entirely odd comapared to where y'all are attaining balance!
Hope to maiden this weekend
Sure was an easy build!
Dan

I used the provided battery tray but I glued 1/8" ply strips on the bottom of the tray fore and aft allowing a wide channel in between for my 2" wide Velcro hold-down strap . Then I glued the tray down. The batts forward ends are even with the back end of the dashboard roughly at CG. And of course I have Velcro on the tray and batts to stick them in place before strapping them down. The tray is drying as I write this! I'm not going to install the side windows at all which will give plenty cooling! Esc wise... the thee motor wires exit the round hole in the firewall and the Esc is inside right in front of the batts. I believe the batts ended up so far back because I used 6" Dubro balloon tires for the "tundra" look and them babies are heavy and the motor is no light-weight either
I'll get some pics later and post them!
I hope to maiden Sunday!
I will set up flaps but I've never used flaps before! The grass soccer field I'll fly her at is huge in length and width so I'll fly her without the flaps and see how she floats!
She may not float too much given that she'll be heavier with the heavier motor, heavy batts and heavy wheels!
Getting excited now!
Dan
