Needed a few clicks of down to get her flying level but otherwise it was fine. Nice and floaty on the landing approach and scooped up a bunch of fresh powdery snow on touchdown, lol.

Looking forward to more flights in the near future.

Congrats Justin! Wish I could have made it as I need to get out and fly!

The best part is that my wife got me this for Christmas. She went through my phone and called some people until she got ahold of a local flying buddy (see previous post) who hooked up the kit & parts. Score!!

Aaron I want to fly this again soon, maybe it'll get up to 25* F this Sat.

Certainly scoots along!! even took straight off with your high angle of attack launch! Looked great fun and lovely scenery backdrop. That's the way to do it!!

Recently completed and maidened my EF-16 which is my first EDF. I used the stock 70mm power setup and I'm running on 3S 2200mah. I used metal gear servos and added inner taileron pivot rod bushings for a little more support. I didn't add any extra wood or plastic to the fuse in the taileron area, other than the small taileron support pieces that came with the kit and all seems to work well. Tracks well with no apparent taileron fluttering or other issues. I did also reglue the stock bushings in well. All in all, the plane is FUN and is a big step up in speed for me over my PZ Trojan and my FunCub. I'm taking it easy with it so hopefully it lasts a little while

Looks amazing!!! Not a huge fan of the stock motor + fan (especially if you've added weight - 2200 is the heaviest lipo I'd use). I prefer how the Squall just leaps out of my hand with it's 4s system.

Question for others - how important is it to have taileron differential? Does it reduce the rocking/wobbling? Or is that just because the jet is so lightly loaded?

KC,

Thanks for the compliment. I used decals that I ordered. I think it was a guy here on RCG - could figure it out if you wanted them. I think they were about $35 for the set. I just crashed this thing today so it's going into the shop for repairs Busted the front of it up but nothing some toothpics and expoxy can't fix Should be all fixed up by the end of the weekend. It was all my fault as I took my eyes off for a split second to watch a local P-51 that was playing around low over my area. So goes my EDF learning curve...

Sorry to hear about your crash. Fixing these things is great experience.
You get better each time.

This was my first EDF. Repaired it 6 times (a few of the crashes were 2.4 lockouts/reboots with the early AR6100 rx )

LOL!
I haven't used that one yet. Is it a full range rx ?
At the distances these get flown at, I wouldn't use anything but a full range unit.
Ive been using the AR6200 with a satellite in all jets with 6 or less channels ever since. Never a prob.
I actually have a 160 mph Habu 2 that flies in the turbine pattern with the HK 9ch "Orange rx" and 2 satellites (for insurance?) ........ no probs.
(I did try it in a foamy first. )

Well not really. I have friends fly the stuff that does better than 140 any more.
I once lost orientation of a 150mph ($1400) jet after a high speed pass, and the thing completely burned to the ground before I could get to it. Yeah, that one brought out the FD.

The AR400 is a FULL RANGE and also DSMX mode receiver, with an extended antenna, for $29.99.

IMHO, best deal going for planes that only need 4 chnl receiver.
