Simply gorgeous. That first shot looks like it was taken the day it rolled off the line, what with the camera effect

Here is our 1966 Mustang, High Country Special convertible. Ford made only 30 or so High Country convertibles. The high country cars were a sales promotion, trying to sell Mustangs in the Denver area in July /August 1966.

What a gorgeous car, and it looks great in that color. What was different about the high country models?

The High Country cars were 3 different colors than the "regular" production colors.
They were Columbine Blue, Aspen Gold, and Timberline Green. All of the colors were a mountain tie in, and Ford was trying to sell cars in the Denver area. The 3 colors were for '66 & '67. In '66 only 333 were made, most of them 6 cyl hardtops, 30 (+or-) were convertibles and 1 or 2 fastbacks. In '68 Ford started the California Special cars. They were standard production colors, with "Shelby" tail lights and side scoops.

Probably way more information than you wanted.

Have fun, Dave

Parrot, great car there. I'd take a guess your Mustang has smaller jets than a typical Stang of that era?

I enjoyed the short story about it, very cool.

Can I post a boat?

Just occurred to me, I've never posted this here. Hope you guys don't mind a boat.

1956 Crestliner Viking Deluxe.
14 feet. Made of Aluminum.
1958 Evinrude 35hp, with '58 Johnson hood, and painted in a custom off white and metallic black color scheme.
(original was off white and gold for a Johnson)
This model (twin deck with walk-thru) was only available for '56 and '57.
The original look was a red deck, gray sides, and red bottom.
The deck was stripped when I got it. There were not seats in it, and the dash was originally covered in vinyl. Palomino Horse colored vinyl.
But other than the backside, the vinyl was all cut off.

I've since made the new wood dash, made seats, restored the paint, raked and lowered the windshield, restored an age-appropriate motor, and polished the bare aluminum.

This is how it looked when I bought it. Very nice original shape, but just tired looking.
