Thanks Martin. I'd like to say that it was my cat like reflexes honed over many years of excelling at martial arts that saved a crash but in reality it was more dumb luck
Still not sure why it was so roll sensitive as it was really well behaved with the camber as you can see from the two landing approaches.
Any ideas

And the fact you could have held a $5 bill between your cheeks very tightly.
Looks like the CG is spot on. I have my gliders set up twitchy like that. Maybe move yours forward 5mm .

Figure I'll add another 50g of lead up front to tame things down and push the nose down to keep the speed up. I might add a touch of up aileron for normal flight as this will give me the equivalent of wash out. Right?
I'm aware that scale gliders can be a bit of a handful compared with models like the Phoenix 2000 etc. Even my non scale Speedo Pro 2 and Flying Fish have to be flown all the time but reward me with lively performance and great aerobatics.
I did briefly own a used 2.4m Jantar. Lovely model until it tip stalled and spiralled in from 50 foot. Wrote the thing off after a mere 7 mins of flight. Good job the electronics were worth as much as I paid but gutted that I had such a short time on it.
Another scale model I have is the FVK Models ASW24 and this is a joy to fly with zero bad habits. Same goes for my FMS/HK 2.32m Foamie Fox.
I'm sure I'll get her flying great with some more tweeks

Hi Andy
If you fly slow with a bit flaps and then go to 0, then you will or be near a stall.

Next time fly faster and then set flaps to 0 and trim it and give it some time.
And remember speed is your friend. specially with this glider.

A good setting on aileron expo is 60 % and 40 % on elevator and rudder.
This give a good feeling.

And take a look on this video
How to land a RC slopeglider (1 min 43 sec)

Perhaps this will save a expensive glider in the future

Good luck
Soren

Thanks Soren. Once I've mixed in some elevator compensation for the excessive motor climb I'll have a bit more confidence in pushing the nose down as I can add some power to bring her back up if I loose lift
The Jantar was being flown on my local slope where I'm used to the conditions. All I can think is that when it was coming in parallel with the back side of the slope it got tossed about by some turbulance which pitched the nose up into a mini stall. Now all of my models would recover fine from that but the Jantar dropped a wing and spiralled in with no height to catch it.

So I snuck a peek at my Fox while the Wife was out today. Looks like the servo covers are thought out. Only very slight rise above wing surface. Is this like others? Leading edge is flush, and trailing edge is 1-2 mm above flush. Usually these kits come with huge bubble cover.

Also brief inspection of the hardware packet showed a rubber band and hooks. Maybe they've provided an alternative for the wing retention? About time! I also got 2 main wheels.

Flap deflection is a bit anaemic like previously mentioned, maybe 14-15mm. If hinged properly you could get 4-5 mm more, as the bevel doesn't touch at full throw. Will fly as is before changing though.

Everything looked good on first inspection. Sad I had to put it back in the box
Now to wait til Christmas....

I think the rubber band maybe the rear hatch retaining band. On my 2nd hand one there is ply hook at the back of the canopy.

Here is a Brown pants moment. Taking off from the ground just behind a small 10' ridge. Almost killed it. grass was damp and sticky. Thanks to lots of power Me thinks saved it. Adjusted the expo's after this flight. Settings were a bit high from changing radio's. Something I forgot to do.

Nice save! What power plant and lipo are you using? Still need the right wind and slope combination to fine tune mine. The 50+ mph winds of today would not have been a good idea. My Weasel Pro was allowed out to play though.

Looks like a similar spec to the E-Flite Power 25 motor which I was planning on installing. I couldn't find a long enough shaft so ended using the one from my long gone Blizzard

Another ready for maiden

My Fox is all ready for a maiden. Being set up for slope just waiting for that good day of wind to set her off.

Also rigged for aero tow, but that'll wait til I'm comfortable off the slope.

Wings secured using tape on the joins and a spring inside.
