How are the e-flite air retracts at Efflux in comparison to Sapac?

There is a slight difference in the mounting tabs height of the E-flites. The jet was designed for the SAPAC. If you can find some SAPACs it would be a no brainer.

On the other hand, I think Rodger is getting some E-flites, so he can make the necessary adjustments. it's less than 1/8"

I have it where the whole base of the retracts sit in the cut out skin but the flanges do stick up some but like I said they could be sanded down to make the junction smooth. but for a good scale look I'd go with the air version.

Oh sorry, the Air for scale.
I hope to figure a conversion before it flies because I've never been a fan of air(even though I have it on 2 planes)
But for now, yes air provisions on the wing please.

Ok if you go with air that is the only one you can use.the electric ones mount different so I have to build the wing one way for air and a other way for the electric.

funny im not a fan of electric ..I have both and nothing but problems with the elec. ...I've never had a failure with air once it is up and running .use a drop of oil when you put them together and holds air for days.some planes I have hold air for several weeks.these im ordering are spring down so if you have a leak they come down by themselves.so I order a set like the one Gary sells so ill see what the difference is if any.

At least you won't have to heat the epoxy this week.

I got the e flight air retracts. I really like the design.will need to drill trounions out for a .125 wire pin for struts. And maybe a thicker break away plate is all that is needed to use these.every thing else in the box looks like sapac stuff.
ill post some pics later got to wax some molds.

Not sure why you would drill out the struts to .125" . The eflite Air retracts have 2.5mm holes and wire struts to fit.
The SAPAC retracts, scale gear and the supplied mating pins (with flats) are also 2.5mm. They are a direct fit.
If you want stronger pins, my suggestion is to make them (the same dia) out of spring steel (music wire from the hobby shop).
But you wont have flats, and hand grinding them at excactly 90* to each other is not easy.
