Help!
First 450 Build

Hey everyone, I've finally mastered the fixed pitch heli and I'm ready to move on to collective pitch. I don't have much money (I'm 15) so I plan on buying a kit. I already have a radio. Can you guys look at the electronics I've picked and tell me if they're any good? Thanks in advance.

I can't comment on the electronics as I've never used any that you've chosen, other than the fact that the motor leads coming off the ESC seem to be extremely short which may limit you mounting choices. The batteries though are very nice. I use the same batts in my CopterX Black Angel and are very impressive.

The battery is great ...The motor will be fine. But for the rest. Gyro , servos, esc.. they are pretty much low grade electronics..I understand you are 15 and at your age money can be tuff to come by. However in this hobby you get what you pay for. And flights will follow suit.. Look thru the classifieds in heli forums and see if you can afford better electronics for your 450. my 2 cents

Battery $7.89. I have well over 50 flights on mine and they are still as new....

These will be more than enough for you.

Servo $5.90. I have used these on my 450 tail and are very quick and cheap. You can use them on cyclics also but you may need to use rates/expo to calm it down at first

I would not cut back on the gyro. If you stuck for cash have a look on the classifieds for a GY401 or something around the same.
Let us know how you get on and the final cost. I'd like to know.
I wish I was you right now. When I first started I had to cut up bare balsa to make a plane. There was no ARTF or anything like that.
Best of luck

You can also keep an eye out on ebay as I've been seeing a lot of 450 kits going for what I think is cheap, they have been going for anywhere from 75.00 to 150.00 with no electronics.... Also like the gentlemen before me stated check the classifieds here on RCG and you might luck out and get a BNF for a reasonable price!! Good luck and if you for sure go with the kit keep us informed as I myself am pretty new to helis and enjoy watching and learning from others as they bring their beasts to life!!
