I just looked at terrain in the Kittitas Valley. Looks like there are some ridges that could be possibles with the NW wind.

Pretty impressive up there in Weldon.

I assure you there was no sound like that today! Ugh!

Hey Brandon I think Lee was checking out a ridge around Ellensburg he had sent a few pics, it was a pretty picturesque location, I don't know what the lift was like.
Our Costco pumpkin pie was $5.99 but didn't look anywhere near as creative.

Yes, winter is here, raining now and predicted 5 to 7 inches in the next few days.

Lee is right..... Eagle has some of the smoothest air!!!

My mom put together a pumpkin pie but the crust she made was this whole grain, super ultra healthy spin on crust. I could have made good use garden shears in my attempts to take a bite. I was burning a ton of calories just trying to feed my face.

Hey Brandon Lee will probably Chime in about the Ellensburg site.

Here's a pic Lee had sent from a place called Lion Rock, the online pics are over the top picturesque, that area must have quite a few sites that'd be great for flying..

Ya Lion Rock is a neat spot. It is something like 5000' elevation, has a paved road almost all the way to the top, camping allowed anywhere you like and flyable with N,W, S wind.

I have hit a few other alpine sites but need to keep looking. I want to try around Whiskey Dick Mountain, Badger Pocket and Saddle Mountain near Sentinel Gap. These are all east of Ellensburg so... no trees.

Yesterday I tried a couple spots around here but it just doesn't quite have the right exposure 46.632464, -120.479365

Tri cites just seems to have the most dependable wind, huge LZ and you couldn't hit a tree if you tried.

Dave - The Kinetic 2 Meter DP is the only current one that flies front side decently. Talk to Spencer if you want one (or maybe Thomas has one FS). Bruce T was flying a K130 in that Video but the same day Alan Coconi recorded airspeed of 480 with his K2m along with average G force of 92 and a peak of 118!?

I wish I could fly more but work has and is super busy. Plus building models seems like a night job... a super fun night job that doesn't pay much Here is a couple shots of some DLG wings and my first fully molded dealy

I hear ya, I thought it was pretty cool.

That's just some chick I met in a dive bar, about 18 years ago, and those are her kids. I figured I would stick around just so long as they keep making those Turkey cakes.

Lions Rock is a neat place. I've made many trips up there. None with a sailplane tho, and the stories are far from appropriate on a public forum .

Tom - it is just north of ellensburg. Here is a pin for Lion Rock: Dropped Pin

http://goo.gl/maps/K9STX

You go up Reecer Creek Road. It is paved almost all the way to the top. There is huge relief to the valley floor (elevation 5000'). There are flyable faces north , west, and south. The south face has the nicest LZ.

I consider it to be more of an alpine site than a consistent big air site. Still nice spot to go toss some models, have a few beers and a big campfire.

There is another site called powerlines that's supposed to be good down by the river as well.

Lee
