Hi everyone my honey bees tail rotor has randomly stopped working, I don't think its the 4 in 1 as ive tried connecting the tail rotor to the main rotor output and it doesnt work
Am i going to have to replace the tail rotor and how do I go about doing this ?

test with multimeter for voltage across the wires to check

how many flight you have and do you ever replace main motor and tail motor. May be it's timer to replace worn out brush motor

Bought it used and it had a xtreme tailmotor installed

probably a burn out, just test it as i decribed and if there is a voltage held across the wires then you have a burnt out motor

I fixed it, on one of the 2 little orange blobs at the top of the motor, one of them had cracked slightly and you could see the metal inside so I covered it with blu tac works fine now
what are these orange things ?

there non polarized capacitors, they smooth out the motor abit and the blue tac........i actualy cant beleive they work =O sounds very odd, but if the blutac doesnt hold up, get the code off the capacitor, go and buy one (they are only 10cents) and solder it on, its non polarized so it wont blow up if you put it on the wrong way.

If you just straight on solder the wires to the motor will it effect much ?

I suggest no. Those capacitor are noise suppression capacitor, used to suppress the high frequency noise (electrical noise) from rotation of brush motor. Without noise supression capacitor, high frequency noise will cause interference.

Same question, I wonder how crack on capcitor caused tail motor malfunction. your capacitor is not burnt, puffed or burst.. Unless the crack capacitor exposed metal parts and in touch with motor case... ..

I was just mid flight and it started spinning crazy,probably broken before just didnt notice

maybe the capacitor was losing charge to the air? sounds far fetched but possible, causing the tail to go crazy.

the motor it self didnt go crazy just didnt work at all, but it cut out mid flight spinning the thing round loads
