Well, the only good news today that I have is the helmet cam works great(especially when you take the lens cover off first)got a short video of the Xplane to post to other thread(when i figure out how). I had issues when i range checked the HV today and chose to scrub the maiden flight of the HV saw till i figure out whats up. sd10g in low power mode got spotty reception at 10 paces and zilch at 12 to 15 paces, this is a new rx and didnt bring a spare to change out, sooooooo, maybe next sunday.... better safe than sorry:cens ored:

Is the plane 2.4 friendly or carbon all through? Was the plane held up of the ground too?

Brandon, piece of RC car antena tube epoxied at slight angle to keep wire away from fuse.

Yesterday I tried my new setup going in formula on one of my test planes.
Hacker B50 11s on 6s with 16x17 +5deg.
I wanted to try first before I start cutting fuse. To me this plane has more character with long nose.
Today I got that B50 in w/o cutting. Used 5mm spacer and longer screws.
If it wasn't blowing 30mph I would be flying it right now.

Using bullet proof Futaba radio with genuine Futaba receivers, gives me more time for flying instead of range checking or playing with endless programming .
Full carbon fuses in most of my planes never caused a range issue as well as different then recommended in most articles antennas placement.
I HAVE NEVER LOST A SINGLE PLANE DUE TO BAD RECEPTION .

Here is how close my screws are to the outside.
Originally this pattern was for b40 with 6.7:1 gb was able to use same holes for B50.

Hope to try it tomorrow.

Steve,
Is that an FHSS-3 receiver? The FHSS-1 receivers often range check poorly in low power mode, but seem to be fine in the air.

I don't think receivers are a smart place to save money though, so I only use the FHSS-3 receivers in all my "good" models.
I trust my Airtronics radio link the same as my Futaba -- they're both rock solid.

Good luck,
Lenny

Sounds like its the new reciever playing up....
Yuri's on the money.I have a Futaba 7C 2.4,always mint reception and 7 channels + mixing is plenty for our types of planes/flying...

Used to have a spectrum years ago....but I literally threw it out...
