Hitec HS-125 tab removal?

Anybody ever take off the three tabs from those servos or their digital cousins? Want to heat-shrink and epoxy them into some composite wings, don't want to expand the bay opening. The bottom one looks like I could unscrew the plate, but not sure about the two in the side...

Don't do it!!! Just make some ply frames and epoxy them into the wing! Easy servo removal for service, adjustment, or replacement. Once I started using frames a few years ago, I'll never glue another servo into a wing again.

But, if you really do want to cut the tabs off, just use a pair of flush cut pliers and snip them off.

With the tabs off and sanded there would still barely be enoug room to get the servos through the opening. Sure a ply frame would be nice but why not the other method?

Snip them. I've done it a few times with decent results.

I used a razor saw on mine too. Very easy and a flush cut. Cut off the tab on the side opposite the shaft and butted the servo up against a wing rib. Other two tabs used for screws in a homemade plywood mount. Worked out extremely well.

Maybe a different servo would be a better fit? The 125's were notoriously breakable. What plane and what will they control?

They are meant for the ailerons on the Reverb (aka a bunch of other names) from HK. What is it that's known to break?
