The airfoil is a cleaned up version of the epp foil.

Are you looking for cnc coordinates? If so for now it is proprietary.

2. The airfoil section has been further tuned by Joe Wurts to be appropriate for a fully molded aircraft.
If so then they are NOT proprietary because Joe uses xfoil, written by Matt Drela, and publication of the airfoil coordinates are mandated by the copyright holder, Mark Drela.

Sections are exclusive to L2 airframes

Hello.

Xfoil is a development and analysis application developed by Mark Drela sir. Covered by the GNU, it is acceptable to copy, modify and distribute the application in accordance to the GPL.

Artifacts produced by the Xfoil application are another matter. That the application is covered by General Public License with regard to distribution and modification does not mean the data produced by the application is by default as well.

Joe Wurts is a user of Xfoil yes, and a strong user of Microsoft Excel as well with regard to coordinate point generation. The same logic applies. Though Excel is covered by explicit licensing parameters, data and/or Excel based applications are not covered by the same agreements by default.

In addition, the sections used on the updated JW are highly tuned further still that result in fully contiguous NURBs curves that result in class A water tight surfaces compatible with modern machine carving produced for this project specifically.

'Off the shelf', readily available flying wing sections within the CJ and EH family are readily available and perform well. If I may suggest, take a look there. Peter Wick is another strong producer of flying wing sections. B2 Streamlines is a great source of flying wing sections and a source for depth experience and resources. Lots of options available.

Thank you.

Isn't a bat ray basically a flying wing? I wonder how it's airfoil would work for DS. Bat Rays generate the most "lift" of any small fish I have caught.

If I write a book on paper printed by X-Company, my work is MINE not X-Company's. The program (whether it be GPL licensed or not) is merely a construct for doing the work that has been done.

That would be like Miller welders owning the copyright to everything ever welded with one of their tig welders. Not gonna happen.

However, if you marry the xfoil software, it will own everything you make!

And if you divorce it, it'll own half of everything you make from there on out.
