Dont know about planes, but helis have certainly killed birds.

YIKES!! That must have been horrible.

Red tail hawks seem to get real interested in my glider at times. Usually when I start doing power off acrobatics. I think it's the sound the plane makes when at high speeds BUT with no motor. None have hinted at attacking it. Possibly because it's a 2M Minimoa and much larger than they are. They will, however, join in when circling at high altitude looking for lift.
