Eflite Leader 480 test flight
I got to test fly my new Leader 480 this morning. What a hoot! Someone commented that it reminded them of the old Sig Cougar and I agree. Flys about the same too. I used a Suppo motor in mine with a 35 amp CC esc and 3 amp BEC with a 12x6 prop using the eflite 30c 3s battery. I set the controls per the manual using their expo rates. Only flew on low rates and truthfully I may tone that down just a little. It rolls well on low rates and has good vertical too. I put on larger wheels for better prop clearance and for flying from grass. The test flight was on an asphalt runway and this sucker can use up some runway on landing.
My only issue was it being nose heavy even with the battery all the way back to the main spar. Never expected that. Needed 3/4 oz of tail weight before the test and will need to add some more. Great plane and a keeper. Not a good first low or mid wing plane. Glad I bought it.
