Hi everybody :-)
My first post!

Just ordered my HK Spitfire 1234mm balsa yesterday with SK3-3548 1050kv.
I plan on running a 9x9 apc-e on 4S (theoretical max speed @ 154kmh) , or a 10x10 on 3S (theoretical max speed @ 131kmh),
Didn't order battery yet, i don't know how much room i got.
I was hoping to fit a 3300mah 65c nanotech in it.

Anybody was able to fit a 3300mah 4S in th Spit?

Anyway, thanks for this thread, lots of very useful info here!

I have run both 3s and 4s 4000 in mine. I have run from 10x5 to 12x8 props on different motors. Currently I have 3s 4400, 1400kv motor and 11*8.5 2 blade prop. I have run 3 blades, but the speed was way down and amp draw up and 2 inch three blade spinners are hard to find.

Jim is right 2" 3 blade spinner can be hard to come by, I used a dubro one, but I did find it heavy, master airscrew 11x7 maybe 8 and a 140g 3639 1100kv, 4s 2200. Flew mine as light as possible but it would take some more weight, good luck and lots of pictures please, missing this plane

Got my spitfire today!
I've started the build, everything looking good so far.
But seriously, those mecanicals retracts are really bad.
Won't be using them for sure!
I've ordered hk full metal retract 80deg (instead of the 90deg that came with the spit), hope they'll fit without to much troubles...

Marc

Almost done with building, was fast&easy.

I fitted the full metal retracts from hobbyking, they look very sturdy, but i should have bought the 90deg ones.
I also changed the wheel for real rubber ones, a tiny bit bigger and wider.
=> They still fit perfectly in wheel wells.

Everything a ready for maiden, hopefully this sunday.

What rubber wheels did you use....? I'd like to change mine out if they fit.

Good luck with your maiden....you'll have a great experience I think. Let us know
