You are going to have to search for Devo 7 setup for the Genius. The tail spinning isn't likely to be a setup issue. If it spins counter-clockwise, odds are good your tail motor is bad. But, the first thing you need to do is change it to 6 channel mode (switch on the board), make sure you are using low rates and when you plug the battery in make sure the heli is setting on a level surface and you don't mess with it until it's done initializing the gyro.

Actually i bet the tail spinning is his gyro..turned off
. So go in to gyro and set it up to i think auto sense and then turn it to around 75% and see if your tail holds. If it still drifts up the % a little bit until it stopsAlso try this to get your heli mechanically setup right first as you always want 0 pitch at center stick for a cp helicopter.
Then try programing in something like this into the devo7. The mcpx isnt the same as the genius but the basic mechanical setup is and the flight curves react very similar.
