Open source autopilot?
I am looking for a comparison of different open source autopilot hardware available. I searched the forum but could not the find exactly information I look for and the information is too much spread across old posts.
It would be very nice if a relative comparison of different open source autopilot such as APM 2.5 is made and tagged on top for beginners.

The problem that the technology is rapidly changing these days. I fly APM and I can say that the latest APM 2.5+ is much nicer than the older ones. Also their firmware has made major improvements in the past few months. That makes it hard for beginners to get any useful information from reading old posts. No matter what you buy there will always be something better at a lower price in the future.

Working firmware for fixed wing, more powerful than APM due to using Arm M3 based microcontrollers. Has built-in OSD.
Also uses Arm based microcontrollers. Limited fixed wing support, good for multi-rotors. Hardware can be difficult to get.
Recent OpenPilot fork. Different mentality when it comes to hardware, 3rd party assemblers have cheap and advanced boards in stock.
