"coming soon": HiSky HCP100S

This (could be) a thread about the long and stressful wait for the new HiSky HCP100S and what became out of it ...

Index

Here is my (extremely lofty) goal for this thread:
This post shall provide an INDEX of the post I would like to not get lost in the expanding thread, or information that I find personally of increased importance.
I sorely miss this in all of the existing 'monster threads' with hundreds or 1000 plus pages - and even if this thread may not EVER get there, I would at least like to try to keep tabs on the most relevant posts. I do hope I manage to live up to my goal and help myself and anybody else who "uses" this thread

EDIT:
If a post contains a video/link to a video, the post number will be marked in red

E2

  • "Off-topic", but generally important/interesting #42
  • "... but James said:" - "good-to-know-posts"/info by HiSky_Official #43

so after finally being able to order the HCP100S two days ago, my painful wait for it to arrive begins - as for quite a few other guys on here as well.

newest stats from the BG website btw:
(12-09-14, 3:17PM local time .):
sold:74 ... add to wishlist: 168 ... those numbers become more and more promising for it to actually become a big success ...

control options to date:

1. (this would be "easiest" - at least for guys like me)
Due to the new protocol the 100S can not be controlled with any "unmodified"
current HiSky TX. It needs the stock TX from the (also brand new released)
HCP80V2
2. According to James (Hisky_official) it can be controlled with the current HT-8
module (however, this has certain restrictions to my understanding
3. It can also be controlled with a current deviation TX (sadly I dont know enough
about this option
4. It will be possible to control it with the current H6 or X6-S transmitters by getting
an upgrade board to install into the TX that will be soon available from HiSky

Anything I forgot? Please feel free to add ...

EDIT:
Here is James' latest post explaining the "available control options":

Can't agree with this enough.

I'll be willing to hope that you get your helicopter before Christmas though. Fingers crossed.

I wish banggood would stock nanotechs. I liked them from HobbyKing because they are cheap but reasonable quality. Shame HobbyKing won't ship them anymore to NZ. Only option is FedEx at $60 a shipment! Not worth while for $4,batteries.

Anything on when spare parts will be available? Deal breaker for some....until they are in stock...it puzzles me why new heli launches are not coordinated better...well, I guess heliaddicts are a pretty nice customer base....Warren Buffett would talk about moats....

Sadly, these are the effects of the very well thought through and impeccably applied (STUPID) general LiPo battery ban on planes ... except ...
(Its still the same, you can board a plane with 10 personal cell phones and 5 laptops [even if some of that stuff will probably have to be in your checked luggage ...], but you cant order two 100mah lipos that will be put on the SAME flight ... of course, except ... - something I will NEVER understand (from a hobbyists point of view, from a business point of view it is clear - use security concerns as a "scapegoat" to poach the most possible money out of people ... [and raise the CEO christmas bonus ... ...])

jus' sayin' ...
