Hello

I ordered NTM Prop Drive Series 35-30 1100kv / 380w with 12x6 prop. Hope I will not sacrify too much flight time on the 3s 2200 mah batteries

Can I keep the original 30 A esc or do I have to set a 40 esc. It suppose to run at 26 amps with 12x6 prop. I might try also 10 x 5 original prop.

Question

Can I use this meter to test the amps draw of my setup? Thanks in advance, Dave

A 12x6 is a lot of prop for a motor that size. A 380 watt rating seems a little optimistic but would probably live if you limited it to short bursts as in light 3d use. Continuous wide open throttle will cook a motor fast if overpropped. Might want to try an 11x5.5 or 10x7 first. Stay away from sf or slow fly props of the same or similar size. They draw much more power than a normal e or electric prop. A wattmeter is a sure enough invaluable tool so there's no guessing. Flight time depends on throttle used, not necessarily the motor size. You should be able to get by with a 30 amp esc.

Don't believe you can. Specs say 0-1 amp rating. Some meters go to 10 amps but that isn't enough either.

On HK site http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=16230 they give the list of prop test:

8x4 - 14.8v - 251W - 17A
8x4 - 11.1v - 121W - 11A
9x6 - 11.1v - 178W - 16A
9x6 - 14.8v - 355W - 24A
10x5 - 11.1v - 200W - 18A
10x5 - 14.8v - 385W - 26A
11x5.5 - 11.1v - 200w - 20A
12x6 - 11.1v - 266w - 26A

According to that 12x6 is suppose to be possible.

If I can have a little bit more power with that motor and the 10 x 5 original prop so that knife edge is possible (with the stock motor and 9x4.7 prop it look to be not possible)

Thats for the 1100kvt motor. he's got the 1400 kvt motor. I'd start ~9x6 and watch your amps.

My answer was for krexken who commented on my 1100kvt motor. it's clear that the same props can not be used on the 1400kvt motor.

Where can I get spare parts for this? my fuselage is kinda beat up now...

What would work better to do some kind of pattern on the bottom(blue is a PIA to see)? Flat black spraypaint, sharpie, others?

FYI: after I shimmed the motor can away from the backplate I've had 4-5 hrs of flight time on it without issue. On a 11x5.5 and 3s 2200 it only gets warm.

I still would like to find something to replace the door of the battery hatch since I loose it.

During flight I lost also the canopy but was able to find it back. I putted some tape so that it does not go off again

I plan on running 2 cell 2200 mah packs in this plane.

Is that a bad idea. I am a novice. I want to work my way up to running 3 cells with a different prop.

Will this thing fly OK with the 2 cell????

TIA
