Freewing Super Scorpion 80mm EDF Jet

At SIME 2014, Freewing announced a new jet, the Super Scorpion. It looks to be in the 80mm EDF size range, and it also has a sign in the picture next to the jet that advertises 80mm EDF's. So, I would assume that's the size EDF it contains. We'll see though.

Yep. Here is some more info, lol. They are working directly with Aviation Design on this model.

I was really thinking hard about getting the one from taft. I think I'm gonna wait on this one. I would think it would get better flight times and freewings quality is excellent.

Yeah, this should be interesting to see the sales between the Freewing one and Taft with each being in a different class of EDF sizing.

Expecially with the probable price difference.

Freewings 80mm have been rolling out at $300, so my guess is this should land around there.

I think Tafts version would be closer to 600.

I'm going with the Taft Scorpion...it's bigger for orientation...like the black/orange colour scheme & best of all great variety of powerplants..6s-12s....If Freewing was making a 90mm I'd wait...

I guess I don't feel to bad putting my scratch built E-Scorpion on hold-- there a dime a dozen now!!... None as big as mine, or have the "balls to make it go" . What a shame!!
And how/why they call it a "Super Scorpion". I' ll never know??

Me too. I prefer Freewing over other vendors - for foamy jets.

Correct, Freewing's Super Scorpion utilizes their 80mm 12 bladed 6s power system. We'll likely be evaluating it soon, stay tuned for any updates. I'll post a flight report when able.

I will. Freewing's jets are improving further with each release and I expect the same with this model.
