I'll second that! My 150% version is just a hair short of 7lbs and flies great. My old 135% EDF conversion is around 6lbs and flies OK but is under powered. That was built a few years ago though and the fans have come a long way. A new power system would really wake her up.

These aren't gliders or high-wing trainers. They fly very well with a bit of extra weight.

Still mostly un-tested. After the repair to the stabilator I only managed to get one more flight in before the weather turned on us around here. Our club field has been shut down since mid December due to the access road being impassable (I COULD make it there in my Jeep but I'm not allowed to). I didn't do much with that flight other than make sure everything was working right again.

The other field I fly at, aside from being inconvenient, has been under water or snow most of the last few months. Other than the quad and a small parkflyer I haven't had anything in the air in a few months. REALLY frustrating.

On the other hand I've been doing a fair amount of building. I just need a few more weeks to finish up the F-16 and I'll be done building for the winter

Well nights are getting shorter so I've brought a couple of planes in to repair snapped stabilisers, and gives a chance for a family photo.....
Normal size SU feels small now!

Very nice! I love that transformers scheme. Looks like it took forever to do.

Couple of nights, couple of permanent markers. Chameleon paint was harder to get, lots of mixing of metallic into greys and then a thinned out acrylic aluminium wash, but catches sunsets great with a bronzed sheen...

May I ask what power setup you used on the smaller one. And how it worked for you?

Good start shadow. I remember my hand hurting after two solid nights of cutting out a hundred or so parts. Keep us posted.

Remember that Flanker plastic model I posted about a couple of pages back? I finished it. There is a build log thread for those of you that are interested.
