My first Quad / QAV 500
I have been meaning to do this for a while so here goes. I got into multirotors in august and wanted to fly. Not knowing much about it, first started off thinking about getting the phantom, then F450 then F550 then tbs then QAV. I started buying parts for it and at that point i met Dave from bailouthobby. I bought the frame motor flight controller props led from him. So when i started assembling it something went wrong and i shorted one of the motors. I got onto craigslist and found a guy from NJ Don who promotes him self with njbluesky . What a . He talked a big game but then didn't do half the stuff he said an i had the same problem. And when i confronted him about it, he was so nasty and so unprofessional and when i mentioned reporting him to the fourm that's when he started calling non stop leaving messages. I ignored all his calls since i didn't want to get down to his level.
So by this time i had gone through 2 motors and 2 esc with and no flight, not to mention 2 5000mah batteries. Down in desperation almost when i was about to give up my girlfriend recommended me to call a professional. Thinking Don was a professional ( which he wasn't, just a scum who happened to steal $700 from another member where he send him the money and then that was the end of he heard from Don) anyway i contacted Dave again and explained to him the problem. I shipped him the quad and he diagnosed the issue. He ordered new board and another esc and motor and he had it there for almost a month. He told me flat out until i don't feel comfortable with your quad copter you are not getting it back. This guy went above and beyond, he said my DX7 wasn't up to the standard, and found me a almost brand new DX8 for a steal , sold and shipped my old one for no extra cost.
Then i got it back and he gave me clear instructions to call him before we fly. It happened to be thanksgiving when i decided to fly and he was hosting 70 people at his place and still was on the phone with me for about an hour, helping me step by step through the entire process and also afterwards. Honestly what a freaking guy. And the quad is amazing. I been flying it every single day and it flies like a dream. Absolutely amazing and he did such a professional job putting it together. So I'm sure i have mentioned this already but Thanks Dave , if it weren't for you i wouldn't be flying daily and would have quit a while ago and not experienced the joy of multirotor.
I am attaching the pictures for you guys to see what an amazing job was done. Sorry about the crappy pics, just got my gopro3 in so will post up a video soon
Wasn't sure where to post so i posted on two different location
Thanks for reading.
