Got it on the stand. It took two people to lift the Mill onto the stand. To do it I first removed the mill head by lowering it onto the mill table for support. then I loosened the bolts and removed the head.

The base was just heavy enough to be a pain but we got it lifted onto the stand. After I bolted the base to the stand, remounted the mill head.

I also machined the extension base for the mill head. I used a Haas Milling machine.

I began making the column spacer. First I milled out a pocket for the ballscrew to pass, then I drilled the holes for the bolts. The next phase will remove material from the to to clear the ways.

This is after I milled away the top surface from the column spacer.

I have been pretty busy lately. I launched a podcast, The CNC Router Tips podcast. If you get a chance listen in on iTunes. https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/...349831567&mt=2

Anyway I got a chance to start milling the base for the ballscrew modifications. I removed about 2 1/2" of material from the base. Cast iron is nasty stuff.
