Are you looking for a built up airplane or something foam?

Not sure, I've been playing those thin profile 3D foamies and want to try more 'scale' looking 3D planes.
Would this also be good choice?

Take a look at the Aerobeez 55" Hybrid Edge 540. It's a built up airframe with EPP wrapped around it- durable enough for the average 3D pilot but plenty of performance for even a hotshot.

I have the FMS Sbach, it is really not a 3D plane. Its fast and maneuverable and too heavy for real 3D. SO I would go for the Sukhoi, but if you want to go with a different model all together, I would find an edge 540. Do you want to go with Balsa or stick with foam? If you are willing to go with Balsa, I highly recommend a 3DHS Edge 41" (99 buck huck) was my first 3D balsa plane and a pure joy to fly. Good luck

If you go to the extreme flight website http://extremeflightrc.com/41-Edge-5...nge_p_623.html

You can order the recommended set up from them as well. There is no PnP version but assembly is relatively easy and there are videos here on RC groups that are outstanding in helping you along. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1226319

Got it.
Thanks this looks to fit the bill.
I had wanted Edge 540 and something balsa.
I was looking for PNP so I wouldn't worry about extra components to buy. This model looks very good.
Thanks again enrico.

One more piece of advise. If you are anything like me and are nervous flying a new plane for the first time, you're hands will sweat profusely, and you're thumbs shake from being so nervous. After all, you spend several hours building you're shiny new plane (which is balsa and not foam). So, my recommendation is to just fly it a bit for the maiden to get it flying level then crash. Once you repair it it wont be the same new shiny plane it was before and you can really enjoy flying it

I can't decide between the 41" and 48" Edge!

http://extremeflightrc.com/48-Edge-5...nge_p_674.html

And what other motor will fit?

The 48" Edge is going to fly better than the 41".

I cant speak for the 48", I had the 41" and currently have a 42" slick. For me, I wanted something easy tp throw in the back seat and take to the field, plus I already had 1600-1800 Mah 3 cell batteries. If you go with the 48" you need to get a bigger motor $$, Bigger ESC $$ and Bigger Servo's $$ I went with the recommended 72gram omega on the website and already had a 40amp ESC. If money is no object, and my skill level is not a question I would have no problem getting the 48. just my 2 cents.

With shipping nearly equal for both sizes; i'm wondering if I should order the 48". I agree with you about throwing-in-back-seat-to-fly size also.
Dang, i'm torn.

I'd like to add one other suggestion. My first balsa plane was one of the Buck hucks from the first production run. I've also had the 3DHS 48" Edge as well. They were both excellent planes, but for truly excellent 3D performance and a much more durable platform take a look at the Skywing EPP Hybrids. If they had been producing these at the time and I knew what I know now based on a lot of experience, I would never have gotten the balsa planes. All my balsa's are just gathering dust, if I could get a decent price for them I'd sell them in an instant. So to sum it up, considering your really transitioning from the light forgiveable profile foamies the Skywing would be a better step. In my extensive experience the place where the balsa models really perform and can't be compared is the higher energy stuff that requires the ability to carry momentum, but for mostly 3D the EPP hybrids outperform balsa.
