Slowstick with EPS400 f gear works nice with cut down 12x6 prop. How come?
I resurrected one of my 12x6 props from the garbage bin after getting desperate for some flying. The ends of the prop were all chewed up and chipped off and the only way to create a balanced prop was to cut the prop down.
So I did and ended up creating what seems to be a 9.5 x 6 prop. The weird thing is, the plane flies and flies very well. I seem to get a lot more RPM out of the motor. I have no idea whether I'll get less flight time or not but I was tickled pink to see the plane fly!
Any ideas why? Or is it just that the GWS slowstick can fly with a couple of wooden spoons as props?
My stock setup is an EPS400 with F (3.3:1) gearing, 8 cell KAN 950 battery pack.
