IF it lets me, I will wait a few days to pull the install trigger. Otherwise, hang on for the ride boys!!!

Glad I did an image of my C: partition a few days ago!

WSJ thinks its a worthy update: http://www.wsj.com/articles/windows-...ate-1438103014

With Windows 10, which arrives as a free update Wednesday, Microsoft puts us back in a familiar driver’s seat. Turn it on and, hallelujah, there’s your desktop, unencumbered by gobbledygook. All the important stuff is back where you can find it, including the Start menu.

It’s worth the upgrade from Windows 8 for these repairs alone. You should also get Windows 10 if, like me, you still use Windows 7 on your primary computer. You’ll love its new search. It can do some things other operating systems can’t, like identify your face instead of making you type passwords. It will talk back when you call out, “Hey, Cortana,” to summon Microsoft’s fledgling virtual assistant.

And chances are, it will even work on your household’s most senior PC. For the first year, upgrading your computer to Windows 10 is free. If you don’t do it in the first year, Microsoft may charge you $120 or more for the upgrade.

Windows is actually useful again—assuming you still rely on a PC.

Removing the Windows update KB3035583 makes the 10 icon disappear from the toolbar.

It says "We are rolling it out in waves".

The British Coastguard is watching closely and has taken what we hope are sufficient precautions.

Since I'm not invoicing folks at a thousand dollars an hour, I have plenty of time for typing passwords. Having used 8.1 for several months now, I'm convinced more than ever that XP was the best OS for PC that Microsoft ever produced.

Uh Oh. I've got one of them. It's NVidia. It that what you meant?

Sounds like the usual half-baked Microsoft 'testing'.

I've only had 8.1 for 19 days.

Start looks pretty and so does the Apps panel. But the whole thing is an illogical shambles. Let's hope 10 is better.

You know what they say about hope:
Stand out in the middle of a field with both arms extended, open palms facing upward. I think you know the rest..............
