So I was catching up on the higher planes thread last night and ran across the pictures of the Extreme Flight extra exp photos at Toledo.

Is this really gonna be out in the next few weeks? I sure hope so.

Anyone out there have any more info?

The Extra 300EXP shipment is leaving China on April 25th and is due to arrive at our warehouse around May 20th.
We will be showing these off at SEFF next week and Higher Plane Fred will be shooting some video. We are working on getting all details up on the website in the next few days.

You think the elevator has enough throw WOW!! Great looking bird...any idea on the power set-up and will HS-65MG fit? Oh yeah...4S 2200-2700 a good fit?

Either the 2818/900 or 2814/820 (spacers included to use either motor), 45 Amp Airboss Elite ESC and 2200-2700 4S. HS-65MGs all around (The new digital 5065 is also a great choice). Kit includes a composite servo arm to allow for the huge elevator throws.

Looks fantastic - can we squeeze any more info out of you? Like, what are the major changes between this and the original 45" Extra? What kind of AUW and wing loading numbers are you shooting for and, what kind of power systems - can you get 160 watts per pound on a 3s system (Torque 900 or 820) or is 4s the way to go?

Will you be offer this Extra in a motor/esc combo?

Other than being an Extra, it has very little in common with the orignal 45 inch version. The EXP is "loosely" based on the Extra design but we have taken several liberties.
The fuselage is longer and much taller (the EXP is 48" x 48"), 100 more square inches of wing area, geodetic construction airfoiled tail surfaces, once piece molded carbon fiber gear, carbon fiber tailwheel assembly, carbon longerons and motor box supports. The longer moment makes for excellent tracking in precison maneuvers and adds stability, while the massive control surfaces allow the instant pitch and yaw response of a much shorter coupled aircraft. 4S is indeed the way to go, but 3S set-ups will work.

Several combos will be offered.

Depending on battery size, 42-44 oz.
