Hobby King's Fire Phoenix EDF 1st flight

Saw this on HobbyKing web site. Looks like a smaller version of the Rebel. Flew mine today. Great flier! Did a few mod's. Remove flying stab, use elevator type setup. Used fixed gear on this model, next one will get retracts. Power setup, WeMoTec Midi 90mm fan, Hacker B50-15L motor, Hacker X-70 ESC and 6S 3000ma Haiyin LiPo. Easy build for the most part. Will post video as I get from my video guy.

I have to admit this is a neat looking jet. Looks like an F-22 prototype. But after the video's I've seen...it does not appear to be all that stable. Will have to check out your vid when you get it posted.

Bob,

As usual my compliments. From what I can see you took a $59 jet and made it look good.

Geez some things just don't change.

I'm a sucker. There was only one left so I bought it. Like I NEED another EDF jet.

Bob - what retracts do you plan on using?

Original size didn't fly for beans.

Smaller model tends to shrink some of the arms that caused the instability, plus you gotta remember that Bob is awesome.

I just ordered one.
E retracts, metal gear servos and trailing link struts.
Still need to decide on a 90mm EDF unit.
I want to go with something light.
What do you think about a twin 70mm?
