Skip Miller's Legacy 3M

This plane looks interesting. Does anyone know anything about it?

Here is a link to skip miller models. Looks like a giant motorized gentle lady. Looks like ailerons but not flaps.

Looks to me like an updated and great flying Bird of Time type nostalgia plane. I've talked to AD and Cody about this plane and they both, separately gushed about how nice it flew. Should be an ALES hit according to AD.

303-442-6454 ... wake up 'AD' Monday (early) morning and ask him about it. Ask him how many ribs are in the wing.

Anyone know what airfoil it actually uses? Can't tell from the webpage.

Reviving this thread. Anyone with additional info/reviews? I'm trying to decide between this one and another ARF. Love the look of the Legacy.

The Legacy appears to be the same plane as the China made Rhobbies Gliderman. At least in the specs.

I think you are right.

Skip also provides it in a PnP version but very little info about what's in it or if it has enough power for ALES. I guess you would have to call and ask. Looks like about 11 oz/sq ft wing loading

I can't find any reviews. There must be someone here who purchased this plane. Odd. I'll email Skip Miller Models.

Skip Miller never returned my email query so I went with a different model from another seller.

I left an e-mail today to ask about climb performance of the PNP version. Will let you know if I get an answer.

Well I ordered a pile of servos almost 2 weeks back from them I was told everything was in stock. .... it wasn't, then they didn't ship or call me the next day.... when I was contacted I voiced my disproval and asked that my servo's be overnighted, they agreed but called me back asking to split the order as the cost would be prohibitively high, I acquiesced. It turns out the reason for this was them needing to drop ship from another location (this was not mentioned. ...ever). Well I finally got the rest of my servo's this week, and guess what? No programming cord, this is when I learned my order was split between Arizona and Colorado. So I called and AD apologized, and tracked my order, tomorrow he said. Yup he was right they were there just like he said, but guess from where? Florida. Jeez, what a pain. Guess who else is in Florida? Heads up rc, now that is a quality out fit, but they don't even carry high end sailplane stuff, that's right cheap servo's, motors, esc's and models, cheap shipping too, priority even, he doesn't hardly add enough up charge to cover shipping on plane kits either. To add to that I've never ordered from anyone in the rc hobby and had a trickle in drop ship experience, definitely not heads up, definitely. I don't honestly know if I'd order from SMM again especially since I was told "everything was in stock" over all.... I give the experience a 1 of 5. Good luck-Guy
