RC-1 in a Walker

Several years ago perhaps april of 2008 I bought a RC-1 Muscle Wire servo for my walker. It is still going stong and I wonder how many others used the RC-1 Muscle Wire servo in a indoor plane.

Just curious!!

I have used them in several planes. Nothing spectacular, but fine for slow, docile planes.

The early V1 versions had unequal throw - more one way than the other. V2 models cured that.

I must have V2 as it is equal throw. What lind of planes did you make for the RC-1. I can only fly indoor and always looking for slow flying models.

JohnC,

They were all my own design, but I don't have any documentation. As I recall, they were less than 15" ws and as light as I could get - 20 grams or so. They would be good in a Walker, because it's so slow and the servo isn't stressed like if it was in a 3D plane!!

Thanks for the reply. My walker was wiped out at the gym yesterday. I had just turned into the pattern and two loud mid air wacks and I cut the throttle. The top wing is is in shreds and it looks like the lower wing is ok. However i will be slicing ribs and strip wood and build a total new set of wings. If I fly it there again I will go to the small gym or just fly it at the Cradle of Aviation Atrium on thirsday afternoons. It looks sooo stately and graceful flying at about 3 to 4 MPH.

I wish I had some more indoor slow flying planes for variety. My eyes are going south and I am trying to fly as much as I can.
