Couldn't make it today but next Saturday I will. Did some test flying in the backyard of my X8 and its nice and smooth and the gimbal works flawlessly.

School is in on Monday so no 3O or Grassfield. Not sure the weather is going to be good.

Just like to thank folks for helping me get my plane back again this weekend. That was an eye opener. Oh and Row, the Harbor Freight pot scale worked like a charm! Never been so smooth. Mustang back in service.

You have to give credit to yourself for keeping cool and flying the plane the whole time.

One of the most respected FPV guys on RCG (Alex or IBCrazy) recommended a simple 72 MHz radio to start before UHF. I'm considering getting a module for my A9 and Rx for my fixed wing FPV.

I must have missed that. After my radian pro crashed for losing signal, 2K feet up and a mile out lost radio signal but not video so watching a crystal clear 2K death spiral is something I didn't want to do again. So I switched to a Thomas scherrer system for my radian and my large quad/UAV.

X8 flight (6 min 18 sec)

Did a bit of flying by Debbie's yesterday with my X8, finally could open her up a bit and see what she could do. Now to put my FPV gear on it and start getting some good filming going.

Here's the X8, quad with dual motors, and gimbal system. Using savox SH-0257mg servos for the pitch and roll on the gimbal to give it fast and smooth response.
Hobby king counter-rotating motors, 11x5.5props, 3S6400 x2, aeroquad baloo flight controller.
Will be putting a 400mw 1.3ghz transmitter on this coming weekend when I come back from training at FT. Pickett.

Whats the flight time you have been getting on the x8 with those props just curious. Did you make those motor mounts yourself?

9min with dual 5400 and around 11min with dual 6400. This is just math I've done not actual flying to those limits.
John made the mounts for me, I would've done it myself but dent have the time so gave the fiberglass to him and he did them.
