help on 1/4 cub
I'm still working on my BUSA 1/4 scale cub. I have covered the fuse, I used coverite fabric. I have painted the fuse as well. I am doing the "stiches" on the wing ribs. I'm looking for any other "scale" add on's and how to do them. Anybody have any Ideas? I have the seats made and I am not doing the traditional j-3 cub.... I am doing the Piper PA-11 Cub Special. any ideas guys?

Here's one that'll set your model off.
The flying wires at the tail are always short cutted, and it only takes a little more effort to make scale brackets for them.
I use thin brass or aluminum, or even steel....030 or so.
Start with a 1/4" wide strip, about 2 " long....At about 7/8", bend it back twice to the shape shown..
Drill the holes to fit,and use 2-56 rods, threaded on one end as the bottom,.Install a self locking nut the wrong way, about 1/4"...Put that end into the bracket with a nut the right way, and tighten them both.
Make the upper brackets with just a simple bend and two holes..Put a solder quick-link in the hole, and cut the rod to fit all the way in the link.
Set all the flight surfaces level and square before soldering them.(carefully)
A piece of fuel line will lock the link in the fitting.Paint and admire.

Here's what they look like and how I did mine. Cubman on RCU has a nice website. Maybe some nice soul can post it here! (I'm not good at computer stuff or I'd do it).
