HPR 135 " High Voltage "

I am starting this thread here on behalf of my brother who’s name is Al because I am a member here and will be part of the building process as well.

I am starting this thread for two reasons; first, to share with all of you, our build of an HPR 135 twin electric, and second to acquire some knowledge from some of the more experienced builders out there.

I intend on keeping this thread very detailed and up to date with pictures, explanations, drawings, and so on. Any input is welcome, and looking forward to sharing this build with all of you.

"The Basics" He has ordered a hull form Hanspeter and awaiting delivery. The intention is to run the hull on twin electric motors, each running on 12s LiPo, with the Castle Creation Hydra HV180 brushless speed controls.

The batteries, and ESCs are already ordered, and on their way. For the motors, he has been in contact with Norbert Kulmus from Germany who has several HPRs in his arsenal, one of which is running with two Scorpion 4035 outrunners. Norbert is a great builder with one of his boats being the fastest HPR hulls in the world. (from Hanspeter's mouth)

With Norbert's help, my brother has decided to run the boat based on one of his setups using 2 Scorpion motors.

This is all I have for now. Next are electronics, setup, building, and everything else that we haven't figured out yet, so feel free to let me know what you think so far, and I will keep updating as things start to fall into place.

Depending on Swiss Post & Canada Post the Hull should be here sometime next week with the first pictures of the unboxing schedule to start ASAP.

I think I mite upgrade to a Aquacraft Rio 51Z just so that I dont look too much of a fool running next to my brother.

My boat experience is
Aquacraft Reef Racer II
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=924852
Aquacraft Rio EP
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...5#post14681761
My brothers boat experience is
Aquacraft Miss Vegas & the same boat brushless converted with 6S lipo.

But since his RC collection consist of
Align T-Rex 700E
Align T-Rex 600esp in Bell 222 fuselage
E-Flite Bonanza
He wanted to replace the Miss Vegas with something where he would not need to upgrade later on and the size would reflect is current RC collection.

Nice hardware! Looks like you're gonna drop at least a couple grand on your build. Which KV are you going with? Is there one higher than the 630kv? I'd try to be in the 750 range.

Its a twin power setup with Scorpion out runners on 12S. The power setup that its kinda being based on is 1100kv twin smaller scorpion motors on 6S with a 110km average speed.

Since in theory the 12S 630kv is kinda like a 1260kv on 6S the setup should be good according to manufacturer and onwer of several HPR hulls.

My brother is not trying to brake any world speed records but simply wants something reliable and fairly fast when we go out on the local water, just fast enough to turn heads but not too much to brake the BANK sort speak.

Already the use of scorpion motor saved a bunch of $$$$ over the Lehner motor that most with these hull use.

Well as of Wednesday the Hull left Canadian Customs/Border so hopefully or atleast some wishfull thinking and a little praying and the Hull should be here Today before the weekend so we can DROOL all over it..

My brother is using motors base on a setup from Norbert Kulmus from Germany who just set a record for that class.. 205.3 km/h or 128mph

Ok folks, its here. After receiving the delivery notice with the 210$ duty taxes & fees, we went to pick it up at the local CanadaPost depot. Box in perfect condition and the contents are well packed with popcorn foam and everything nicely tuck inside bubble wrap.
