Got her up in the sky

So, a few weeks later and I have flew the Tricopter a "lot", probably like 30 packs. I'm getting the hang of it and feel good about the controls. I have so far just tried the goggles a few times but feel pretty nervous about it but I'm sure I soon will get over that hurdle.

I thought I would share at least one video (recorded after a week of flying or so, raw, not stabilized) from Oceanside(north 78, west El Camino Real) and attached is a pic of her.

RC explorer Tricopter V3, one of my first flights (2 min 22 sec)

I have a FrSky 2.4Ghz module that I'll put in my Futaba 7C Tx so that I can get rid of that long antenna. I almost crashed when the rod buckled during high speed and the rear propeller chopped it off but I saved it......

Regards,
Emil

Nice meeting you today Emil!

OH, also crashed the TBS ...
TBS Crash (1 min 16 sec)

Seems like one of the arms broke in mid-air .. it missed a huge chunk and it wasn't found anywhere on the beach. Microcrack probably from September crash :-(

Oh well

Nice meeting up with you as well. The issues I had with my Tri was not really wind related, I had by mistake messed up the P settings on the KK board when I installed the new receiver the day before.

Attached is a pic with your quad flying by, the one that survived the day, at least it was in one piece when I left.

Sucks about the TBS taking a spill, but I'm just really glad there was nobody on the beach below--that would have been "game over" for SD FPV flights.

unfortunately its just one of those things that happens. we can do all the safety checks we want, but you still never know.

But as Quasar stated....good thing it didnt hit anyone on the beach...

I don't know if you can call this "game over" .. considering that they fly 2.5m wingspan gliders there which regularly crash on the cliffs and surfers walking up the cliffs .. it is a designated RC airfield.
