Agreed on all counts... My niece lives in Burkburnett Texas (I also lived there for ten years) which got hit by a tornado recently, and is right in the lower middle part of "Tornado Alley"... And only 14 miles from Wichita Falls, Texas which has had massive flooding..

Sometimes we need to take a minute, and let people with hardships know we care..I'm concerned about those folks still missing in the badly flooded areas of Texas.

-can't imagine having a loved one carried away, lost somewhere in the debris.

Lawton Oklahoma got hit hard with flooding last night like Houston TX. The storm just stalled over them and sat for hours!

And Lawton is just about 40-45 miles north of Burkburnett!! The weather is just one of the many reasons I hated living in Burk.

My Brother lives in Hulbert, OK.,and 40 years ago, he buried a School Bus on the farm..The whole time the family was growing up, they used it for an underground shelter. Kids loved it as much as their house, and slept in peace, if a storm was brewing.-Not much danger of flooding on the hillside,so it's relatively safe, in comparison to surface dwellers.

"Wavy Gravy" of Woodstock announcer /hippie bus fame, resides in a town just northeast of here. IIRC, he runs a a new age alternative school and camp for kids.

Not exactly my cup of tea, these days, but we were remembering school and other buses from the 60's.

I have to laugh at that...I mentioned Wavy Gravy to somebody the other day and even though the person is only slightly younger than I am, he had NO idea who or what I was talking about!!

All this talk of Wavy Gravy makes me hungry i keep thinking about a local place called "Good Gravy!" They have biscuits with your choice of 7 different kinds of gravy!
Brown
Cream
Sausage
Ham
Bacon regular or Maple
Hamburger
Chorizo
(Italian sausage and Chocolate available on the weekend only)
You can also add onion, jalapenos, or mushrooms to any gravy so that gives you about 50 gravies total.

Imagine the 60's never ending. MUCh of this area is like that. Sometimes it's comical, even "far out". But the all pervasive drug culture, here, is pretty disgusting.
