*********** NEW DF-200 Frame & Film micro 3D by DYNAMIC FOAMY ****************

Dynamic Foamy’s new frame and film DF-200 indoor micro model. We have received a lot of praise on our frame and film Yak55 but some wanted a smaller model that would fit in the box (carrying case) supplied with many BNF models. The DF-200 has excellent control authority and a low wing loading for great flight performance. The DF-200’s smaller size means less weight and better vertical performance.

Model Specs:
Length: 18’’
Wingspan: 16.75’’
AUW: 1.2 oz.
Color options: See website

Recommended equipment:
AR6410 style brick with built in servos
2 additional 1.5g long throw liner servos
160 mah. 1S lipo
Micro gearbox with motor and propeller

Despite the fact that my sump pump decided that last night would be an excellent time to quit working, I wanted to share a couple of pictures of my latest toy. I didin't have much 'play time' but I did cut out the main parts and took the pictures below.

In case you don't recognize that box, it's from a UMX Extra 300. Yep, the DF-200 fits just like it was made for it! Minor modifications to the liner will be needed if I decide to install the side force generators, but as you can see other than that it drops right in!

Can't wait to get it finished!

Woo hoo!

They should work fine. The DF-200 is cut for the 4-Site/Extra 300 style gearbox and motor but I'm sure you could use the Corsair parts as well perhaps with slight modifications.

You'll need to extend the motor wires to reach the brick. The Extra 300 mount fits a lot easier than the Corsair Motor mount, too.

Hi Jeff,

Bert from Dynamic Foamy, or the guys at Horizon Hobby would be the ones to ask about that.

I was lucky enough to have an old Extra 300 to scavenge for my DF-200's parts. I don't know of anyone that sells utra-micro electronics as a package but that would be a good idea!
A buddy of mine - who also just built a DF-200 - didn't have a 'donor' aircraft so he wound up buying all new components from the local hobby shop for around $100.

But even if someone had to do that, the final cost would be similar to the price of a new UMX Extra 300 or 4-Site. Of course, you can't get either one of those anymore...
