Rewind one PA Thrust 20.
I have a motor to rewind,
This motor is used with an APC 11x4.7 SF and 3s lipo.
I find heavy load, because the motor weighs 71 grams and has a kv of 1030 according to the manufacturer.
Either way the motor is burned.

Disassembly of the motor is more difficult than normal.
The motor has a pin between the stator and the base, with some sort of bonding glue.
Removing it was somewhat laborious.
After having a couple of clips that also must be removed.
Now if the engine is mounted on a base and is heated with air gun.
Once hot, the stator is covered with a suede and clip is removed.
Be very careful because the stator has a very thin laminations.

The motor has a Kv of 1030.
But few Turns?
To find out, rewind one test with 10 turns of wire no. 26 awg.
this was the result.
18,300rpm. , 10.94V, 2.73A. Kv 1672.
16 Tuns DLRK Delta= 1045 Kv.
33 Tuns Half parallel Delta= 1013 Kv.

I decided to rewind in Half Parallel with 33 turns of 25AWG
But if I can put 34 turns, so I will.
A slightly lower Kv, will allow the motor to use the propeller with less risk of burning.

11,100 rpm, 11.3 V, 1.04 A, 982 Kv.
Drive calc= 978 rpm/V, Rd= 112.5 mOhm., Kt= .966 Ncm/A. Max Eta =80.7% to 96 watts.
APC SF 9x4.7, 8,800 RPM, 10.63 V, 13.69A.
GWS 10x6, 8,700 RPM, 11V, 18.35A.
APC e 10x7, 8,200 rpm, 11.15V, 22.70A.
APC e 12x6, 7,400 rpm, 10.67V, 24.95A. 266 watts.

Nice work. You've turned a dog into something decent.
But imo it remains an Odd motor ..
Being more Case than working motor. Ring and stator is a % of it's overall size.
Designer must have been told that bigger is better :-)
