This is not my plane, but it deserves mention here for you guys who don't frequent the exotic/Nurfugel thread. A very nice, well planed effort.

nice concept . but definitely its cheaper and lighter just to use springs for those doors since you don't use them on the landings anyway.

The Overlord
Picked up one in Chico CA, a great wing, just what I was looking for. Had been trying to find a 48" EPP wing similar to GWS Slinger, an airfoil I love but has only a 2" strip of EPP on LE, rest is EPO. Turns out they are virtually identical, except Overlord all black EPP. Here is my night combat version, with choice of decorations by my 13 year old Giants fan daughter. Has a NTM 28-36 2200kv with 7x7 CF, 3S 2600 40C, 60A HK Blue esc, etc. Used the 10mmx2mm CF spars joined with metal rod, epoxy and multiple wraps of 60lb spiderwire, right up to leading edge. Got to test strength as stuffed nose first at high speed Thurs; only laminate, and foam messed up, spars solid. These pictures are after relaminating and taping. As good as new.

Hooked up wattmeter with 7x7 on 2200kv, hit 58-60A for first few seconds, then sat at 55A and 600-630W for a few more seconds before I backed way off. Flies with great range at 960 grams with 2600 40C, floats on big, thin wing vey slowly, but huge speed and amazing roll rate for 48" wing. Took up real high and glided for ever, yet can make crazy fast turns at speed. Given wattmeter and 95 degrees out, almost no wot, mostly 1/2 and 2/3, plenty fast and quick. Have a 7x5 Master Scimitar have used before on motor as back up, or for hot days, 7x7 for night time. Very happy, and the nose is sooo solid, now tested. Probably best dynamic range of all of my wings, except for Slinger, and this flew almost identically, felt like an old pair of shoes.
