LEDs controlled and hooked up to Rx

Is this the best option if I want my LEDs powered off of my Rx and also be able to turn them off with a switch on the Tx? I have an AR8000 and a DX8..This is going on my F450

I have this one on order, but I don't think that you can control the on and off from the Tx? Can you?

Thanks

Hi,

The one you have ordered does work off
a spare receiver channel and needs no other
power source...but they are aircraft style and
not really expandable if you want to add on.

For more of a custom, large plane lighting...when
I want to really light up the sky...say with 5 meters
of 12 volt LED strip lights I use :
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html

For these the receiver controls on/off and the red wires
just splice into the + wire from strip to your 12 volt, 3s battery source.
The ground wire for that LED strip, not shown, just goes from LED strip
to same 3s battery...to complete the circuit for that strip.
I have used up to 3 of these controlling different light strips in a plane.
It is custom work...not like the one you have on order.
If you like to do custom LEDs like me...you can use multiple switches
and multiple 3s (12 volt) batteries to power them...just need to have
them all connected to same ground.

I have DX8, DX9, and the new DX6 and all setup with these switches
on Aux or Gear channel, set up as a switch..see Spektrum manual.
Actually I also use rudder channel too...as a switch...on my flying wings
that are setup as elevons.

Hope some of this helps.

Oh, I should add do not connect the one you have ordered to 12 volt!
It runs on lower receiver voltage!
