Help!
Multiwii pro not powering reciver

Multiwii pro is not powering the transmitter, i was told it should be able too. is this correct or do i need a outside source of power?

i had received a defective board the first time and tech support said that was the reason for it not working. if i hook up a ESC individually i can connect and control them. but once i connect it to the board

following these instructions:
http://www.instructables.com/id/The-...opte/?ALLSTEPS

i am starting to think i should go with a different flight controller, especially sense threads are now being deleted with support for this board. and i have been getting alot of compile errors any suggestions or links that could help me get my HEX copter running.

The ESCs provide power to the FC which then routes power to the RX.
Do the ESCs have +5V BECs?
Are the ESC and RX wires correct, Ground to Ground?

Use your Ohmmeter/Voltmeter to check continuity between the ESC connections to the RX connections. Then measure the Voltage at those connections.

Does the RX power up and run a motor if you connect an ESC/Motor directly the the Throttle channel of the RX? It should.

so i guess its not a +5v , but is a BEC
and yes the RX does run a motor directly.

Edit:

so i tested with a meter and no power is coming across the pins at all. the same problem i had with my first RMA multiwii pro.

Recently been talking on R/DIYdrones (reddit) no one recomends this board anymore. and support is dropping for a good couple flight controllers

- my next step is to get a new flight controller. and accept defeat because even the thread i was following links have disappeared.

-also going to look into powering the RX off a independent ESC BEC because even after removing one motor and going straight into the RX which powered it. no commands where being received.

"final thought" Multiwii pro is not user friendly for a starting out DIY enthusiast

Correct, MW Pro is not.

Which FC you chose should depend on what you want to do with your copter.
For my simple LOS Aerobatic quads I use a Flip Pro (Atmel 32U4 processor, NanoWii clone) and MW2.3. These are flown in Acro mode only so does need extra features.
For my FPV mini-H quads I run a Flip32 (Naze32 clone) and run CleanFlight firmware. No GPS, Baro or mag but do run OSD, sensors, telemetry and flight mode switches.

A very simple, easy to use beginner FC is the KK2 boards. These fly well but do not have advanced features. I don't recommend advanced features for anyone's first copter anyway since there is too much to learn with just basics.
